much apologies, i've been busy and forgot to keep updating the dD blog
well, the last entry was an invitation so i thought it'd be ok
evidently not
i'd just like to quickly/briefly let people know what i'm doing then finish up with some of my recent researching.
firstly,
i'm still using mono, just nowhere near previous concentrations
my current cream consists of:
mono 5%
p-hydroxybenzyl alcohol 1%
mequinol 10%
kojic acid 3%
titanium/zinc oxides 1% for each
water based cream and ethanol
it's extremely important you assess which products compliment your skin
a member on my forum custom fabricated a mix which works great for her skin and a few other at dD, but that greasy mix did absolutely nothing for me short of adversity
that's why i became depressed, i was using below 5% mono yet only saw irritation and red/dark skin
i was giving up hope lol
but, after some time and experimentation on various parts of my body i'm now happy with the resulting combination of ingredients i've custom fabricated for myself.
in the experimental stage i was unfortunate to have darkened at least 2/3 shades due to not applying any active depigging ingredients to the whole of my skin
previously i was unsure about my once achieved pinky/white complexion tone, but now lol, i long for it
and
looking at the options = becoming a dark white high olvie tone, i prefer the direction my skin was going in because it looks more radiant as is the norm for paler skin ;o)

if you google this compound you'll find nothing linking it to depigmentation, tyrosinase inhibition or melanocyte cytoxity
so...
what IS it and why is it that only herbalinn sells it?
herbalinn btw is owned by sam who runs depig.forumup.com who also owns depig.com and monobenzone.com
back in the day he used to pretend to be a licenced pharmacist selling his watered down creams and mixed powders to those at vsi (vitiligo support international)
he was even asking for personal information (prescriptions!) so as to appear legitimate
he got shut-down by the FDA for selling monobenzone illegally (infact, this keeps happening, he then pays a fine then springs back up again, eager to continue his money-making venture)
ok, i'm sure i don't need to point out how dangerous that looks?
you're (if you're actually that gullible) buying chemicals from a person with no legislation to do so
thereby he has no guidelines to adhere to while offering the general populace what he proposes is authentic ingredients
how do we know he's honest and trustworthy?
should we believe that illegal and kind go hand in hand?
...
anyway, i'm still trying to figure out what his magical (? - nobody has shown pictures highlighting their great success plus, it appears that for benzyl-a to work, you first need to have used monobenzone topically) mix is
at a guess, i'd say it's probably a concuxion of multiple tyrosinase inhibitors and heaven knows what else. if he's covering his overheads and making a profit (if he wasn't, why run a business) the truth is possibly that among other things are classic fillers
his prices are insane, for my money i'd want to know exactly what i'm applying, is it carcinogenic (causes cancer) for one
the best bet
search pubmed for chemicals, buy pure and make it yourself
yes, you'll probably spend some time researching before you create something individually unique (unless your name's bcnu! lol) but, at least at the end of the day it'll be a genuine product, not to mention the savings you'll make

dD isn't about experts (although we do have some) or scammers or cons or lies or greed...
it's a gathering for people looking to depigment either superficially (just lighten) or drastically (kill all melanocytes) who have come together to gather honest advice and information plus log their own experiences
your skin is the largest organ of your body, take care of it!

why do i have to submit a pic to get access to the dD cult???:
firstly, it's not a *cult*, it's a forum, not an advertising base for shady websites selling even shadier products!
we need confirmation that your sole intention for joining isn't to be disruptive
people (and there have been many!) looking to join, send me their tales of woe and longing. they speak of mono being imperitive to their existence lol
but, when it comes down to providing a basic pic showing the dD sign, all of a sudden, it's not so important afterall

i don't want my face connected with depigging or plastered allover the internet, i'd be ridiculed more than i am now
it's a private matter and i fully understand that
previously there was a post limit so dD's could talk with newcomers and newbs could earn our trust
but
new people would abuse that by spamming endlessly.. not exactly what we had in mind
so, the simple requirement is a picture so we can gain that little piece of trust and hopefully safeguard the forum from jealous respites

dealing with the proboards point and click forum had me beguiled for a while, now however i've found my footing and enjoy customising dD - making it look pretty lol

although, sams marketing is hardcore, it seems he's allover the internet in disguise praising his companies and telling lies about me
