gathering mono troops
dD (aka DepigDistrict) is a depigmentation forum dedicated to depigging skin (note how i didn't limit that to the vitilagious kind)
we're striving on self experience, new techniques and the positive aspects of change.
along our journey there'll be times we struggle, are unsure or need guidance/help or assistance with our methods.
we may also discover some hidden truth relating to the science behind melanocytes, tyrosinase and skin in general.
dD is a pit-stop filled with info and members ready and willing to share experiences (plus gain some).
because we're unbiased and dedicated, i feel that qualifies dD for the *best* message board of our nature.
join us and see for yourself.
take care.

childish behaviour
there was and still (of some sorts) is, a group of members at a certain forum who are using a chemical without prior research
i feel that in itself is wrong
however, i also feel it shows weakness of character to gang up and hate for no good reason
i speak of what i know and can back-up everything i say with evidence re: the person in question and their FDA shenanigans. or ,the ownership details that were seen (i'm not sure if he's gotten smart but the info is saved at my forum) on telivo which, if a domain is taken, shows owner details...
enough of that
at various points in time i've felt ridiculed by a mob that is them, for:
stating the truth about what i know (both relating to depigging and that forums owners businesses)
showing pics publicly
trying to pull members to my forum (i wouldn't call it advertising, more.. spreading awareness with knowledge . as, i'd never just blatantly just carpet-spam anywhere. rather, i'd speak of my experience, share recipes and even some of my own research)
i suppose *shrugs* i lowered my standards by allowing the snipes to get to me because for one, i could speak forever but if a misconception has been laid, people can be obstinate to change their opinion
and two
i figured it unfair that i shouldn't at least try to be the voice of reason. however, in my quest for this i am guilty of allowing my emotions to overshadow the various points i have made.
some dD are members to that forum so i can hardly call all of you/them anything which singularly categorises how i see you
but, it's hard not to feel that way when the loudest speakers there were pushing a product (inferior and expensive. jmho) and belittling my forum every opportunity they got
this is not an apology because i don't believe my actions have been wrong (although i do admit to pandering to stupidity at times, but only with my own respites, not my knowledge).
so..
back to the subject of depigmentation, i've side-tracked enough with this and shall now focus on more important issues
to each their own...

monobenzone shortage
i've been accused of scare-mongering
i supposedly created the mono shortage
r-e-a-l-l-y
::)
check the vitiligo support (aka vsi) forum to read for yourself what troubles those depiggers are now facing since online (and lol, i mean the genuine kind) chemists and pharmacists are experiencing shortage and they simply have no stock
we buy from a chemical *manufacturer*
meaning, they make on demand
dD isn't responsible for any shortages, neither are we affected by any
the reason... *why*
i will confess to that of which i have said (lol)
i believe monobenzone is the safest chemical for skin change
this includes tyrosinase inhibitors ... and so on
why would i say this?!!
let me give you two examples:
someone from shall we say forum A, used mequinol for four years and is now using b-arbutin (still no data on it, so my maybe naive conclusion doesn't count, but i'm a strong advocate for researched chemicals e.g in vitro vivo studies. if pubmed doesn't know about it (published medications), i for one am not interested if google doesn't link it with depigging too. (wiki is exempt)
anyway
sunbject B from forum C (yes lol, i confused meself, bare with me)
has used mono for four years and is now *depigged* = done, finito
yes, clear of further mono use for good.
but, what about repig spots, brownies or islands of resistant pigment??!
that can be taken care of effectively with spot treatment (more info at dD. not by any means i'd previously been informed by btw. and i don't mean salicylic acid either)
my conclusion comes from longevity
which compound/chemical/substance will do it's purpose in the least amount of time without needing to be binded to/used for life
in short, only monobenzone or *pure* mequinol (i too am confused why it took the guy, ahem lol.. i mean *subject A *so long, but that's besides the point)
which makes more sense?
to use mono for upto four years or another strand of hydroquinone for life
this seems self explanatory to me, i'd rather hit it hard and fast, than adopt a substance into my life indefinitely, lest after quitting i'd like to re-welcome my own tone
doesn't that look wasteful?
say you spend eight years on chemical Q, get to your ideal shade, quit then detox your body
everything's fine
until
you start (whether in a weeks time or months) to repigment
what happens if repigmentation is uneven?
do you then go through another 2 years on chemical Q? or by that time do you decide mono might be the better option so go onto use it for upto four years
by now, you'll have mono plus chemical Q's use in your system within a relatively short timespan and it could mean twelve years of trying with only four effective ones
this is the reason i favour mono
i don't intend to be a vampire forever, i would like to catch some sun (safely) for the remaining time i'm on earth
depigged people can and do enjoy summertimes (albeit with adequate protection)
i've given the why and the reason, hopefully people won't continue to pretend they can't understand
cheers :o)

skin and scars
the main thing on my mind is scars - i don't want them! lol
so.. here's some of my research
snail slime:
Helix Aspersa Baba Snail Slime Gel 30ml
The active ingredients regenerates skin cells giving an incredible and wonderful effect smoothing out your skin. The active ingredients in Helix Aspersa is rich in various vitamins and minerals which it uses to repair its own shell. It is widely used in medicine, dermatology and cosmetic areas with optimum results.
What is the rich biological ingredient that yields those amazing results?
Read carefully, for what we are about to reveal can not only help you prevent and erase stretch marks and scars but may lead you to a lifetime of healthy skin. We guarantee you’ve never heard anything like it!
It is snail slime... YES, PRODUCED BY THE HUMBLE BROWN GARDEN SNAIL!
Our BIOSKINCARE products embody this all-natural ingredient that has been known for its healing and restorative powers since antiquity, in ancient Greek times, and praised by Hippocrates himself, the father of modern medicine in the 4th Century, as a "sovereign remedy to treat pain related to burns, abscesses and other wounds". ( The Hippocratic Oath pertaining to the ethical practice of Doctors is authored by Hippocrates).
Since the 19th century there has been renewed interest in the pharmaceutical and medical use of snails, particularly for dermatological applications. But the most common purpose for raising escargots (snails) in modern times has been for food. That is, until people at a snail farm in Chile noticed that their handlers had exceptionally smooth hands, and any cuts or abrasions healed unusually quickly and without scarring.
This happens to be the ONLY substance in NATURE, created by a living creature to protect, moisturize, repair, and regenerate its own skin whenever wounded. It even regenerates its eyes with almost complete recovery of function when bitten by birds or large insects. It is even more amazing to find its skin is made with the same structural elements that human skin is made of: collagen, elastin, water holding molecules, etc.—
According to scientific breakdown the substance secreted by snails to regenerate their skin is a biological compound of complex glyco or sugar chain molecules bound to proteins, peptides, enzymes, coenzymes and oligoelements.
The snail we collect the secretion from is of the species Helix Aspersa Müller, also known as the humble brown garden snail. Using proprietary technology, no harm is inflicted upon the snails during the labor-extensive gathering process.
The fluid mucin produced by these snails has high Antioxidant Activity, which helps the snail to protect its body from oxygen radicals when it comes out of hibernation and from the effects of solar UVA radiation as it thrives exposed nude to the sun rays and the hazards of the environment, pretty much like we go around exposing our nude face. For human skin the glycoprotein secretion obtained from the gastropod Helix Aspersa Müller, also bears high Antioxidant Activity based on its ability to capture free radicals and is able to inhibit the production of free radicals in the skin. In addition, it bears superoxide dismutase as well as gluthation-S-transferase activities which are strong antioxidants.
The secretion also contains antimicrobial peptides and triggers the proliferation of antimicrobail peptides which protect the snail from beeing affected by attacks from opportunistic micro-organisms always ready to intrude when skin is injured. Now, isn't that truly amazing! As a result, snails never suffer from skin infections – can you imagine?
Antimicrobials help to control acne and the other effects of the biological ingredient help to quickly repair lesions to the cells lining the hair follicles and to unblock cloged pores, so you can use the product to keep acne at bay while pregnant.
Silgel® has been developed to extend the concept of gel therapy by utilizing high molecular weight silicone gel (polysiloxane). The purity of material used to create Silgel® and the simplicity of application enhances the product's efficacy and clinical performance.
Though primarily developed for the management of hypertrophic and keloid scarring, the potential of Silgel® extends itself into additional diverse areas.
Silicone, available either as a gel or in rubber-like sheets, has been found to lighten and flatten scars. You apply the gel directly to the scar or use medical tape to cover the scar with the silicone sheet. It isn't known exactly how silicone helps scars heal — some researchers think that static electricity from the silicone helps align collagen fibers in the scar, while others think it might help trap moisture, which can help make scars fade.
dermatixSilicone
aka Polysiloxanes
is the clinical gold standard for scar treatment and scar prevention having demonstrated clinical efficacy over all other forms of topical treatments and is recommended by the “International Advisory Panel on Scar Management” as the first line therapy for these types of scars.
Panthenol is also an excellent, deep penetrating moisturizer.
Liposomes help to increase the penetration of ingredients to the deepest layers of the skin. Since scars are caused by damage to the underlying layer of the skin, it is essential that all the active ingredients are able to penetrate to the deeper skin layers where they can exert their effects.
You are going to think this is wierd, but it really works. Castor oil, rubbed on the stretch marks three times a day. Feels a little odd at first, but works great. I though it was funny till I did it. I am getting my first bikini this year. I have had two pregnancies and had stretch marks on my legs scince I was a teenager. Diet and exercise hepls celulite, but I dont know about stretch marks. Zinc supplements might help too. They are good for scars and stuff like that. Doesnt hurt to try. I am 5 foot three and my weight got up to 183 pounds. I know all about stretch marks. I lost more than a quarter of my body weight last year. More to go, but my skin looks better. Hope this helps
products to wet the appetite
The off-the-shelf skin replacement product is said to be revolutionary for patients affected by burns and skin damage, with the cosmetic implications beneficial for consumers who wish to avoid the painful process of skin grafts.
Terproline® is a group of products designed to assist in scar reduction and recovery from numerous dermatological procedures. Used before and/or after many cosmetic procedures it can improve recovery times by up to 50%. As shown in clinical trials..
Terproline® Professional Creams provides the raw materials for making more elastin (fibronectine) and collagen while also stimulating the fibroblasts, the cells in the skin that convert these raw materials into collagen and elastin. This improves skin structure and can be used to heal and whiten acne scars. This is the professional range clinically-trialled in burns units to reduce burn scars and also by plastic surgeons to reduce operation scars. It is also used by laser resurfacing clinics to reduce erythema and improve healing times from 10 to 3 weeks following full facial resurfacing. It can also be used to improve the results and reduce the complications of any treatment that challenges the skins integrity such as physical peeling, light and laser treatments and also injections such as Botox and Fillers.
- The use of lavender oil as a healer for many illnesses was discovered in 1937 by the French chemist Rene Maurice Gattefosse.

you really need to read the labels CAREFULLY!
here's an interesting/disgusting revelation (exerpt):
If anything, shouldn't it say 'artificial guacamole dip' in the same way that fake crabmeat products say 'artificial crabmeat?' By the way, have you ever read the ingredients on artificial crabmeat? That's enough to put you into a shivering frenzy. One of the ingredients in artificial crabmeat is, believe it or not, beef plasma. That's the liquid part of blood, minus the red blood cells. If you've ever popped an infected sore and watched an amber-colored liquid ooze out, that's plasma. Apparently, it makes great artificial crabmeat if you mix it with cod and artificial colors.
indeed
basically a site rampacked with info and links, it has made me change the way i think about food and my body
while depigging oreven if you're not, it's good to keep healthy ;o)

long awaited update
well, the last entry was an invitation so i thought it'd be ok
evidently not
i'd just like to quickly/briefly let people know what i'm doing then finish up with some of my recent researching.
firstly,
i'm still using mono, just nowhere near previous concentrations
my current cream consists of:
mono 5%
p-hydroxybenzyl alcohol 1%
mequinol 10%
kojic acid 3%
titanium/zinc oxides 1% for each
water based cream and ethanol
it's extremely important you assess which products compliment your skin
a member on my forum custom fabricated a mix which works great for her skin and a few other at dD, but that greasy mix did absolutely nothing for me short of adversity
that's why i became depressed, i was using below 5% mono yet only saw irritation and red/dark skin
i was giving up hope lol
but, after some time and experimentation on various parts of my body i'm now happy with the resulting combination of ingredients i've custom fabricated for myself.
in the experimental stage i was unfortunate to have darkened at least 2/3 shades due to not applying any active depigging ingredients to the whole of my skin
previously i was unsure about my once achieved pinky/white complexion tone, but now lol, i long for it
and
looking at the options = becoming a dark white high olvie tone, i prefer the direction my skin was going in because it looks more radiant as is the norm for paler skin ;o)
benzyl arbutin:
aka (?) - Benzyl 2-Acetamido-2-deoxy-alpha-D-glucopyranoside
CAS: 13343-62-9
if you google this compound you'll find nothing linking it to depigmentation, tyrosinase inhibition or melanocyte cytoxity
so...
what IS it and why is it that only herbalinn sells it?
herbalinn btw is owned by sam who runs depig.forumup.com who also owns depig.com and monobenzone.com
back in the day he used to pretend to be a licenced pharmacist selling his watered down creams and mixed powders to those at vsi (vitiligo support international)
he was even asking for personal information (prescriptions!) so as to appear legitimate
he got shut-down by the FDA for selling monobenzone illegally (infact, this keeps happening, he then pays a fine then springs back up again, eager to continue his money-making venture)
ok, i'm sure i don't need to point out how dangerous that looks?
you're (if you're actually that gullible) buying chemicals from a person with no legislation to do so
thereby he has no guidelines to adhere to while offering the general populace what he proposes is authentic ingredients
how do we know he's honest and trustworthy?
should we believe that illegal and kind go hand in hand?
...
anyway, i'm still trying to figure out what his magical (? - nobody has shown pictures highlighting their great success plus, it appears that for benzyl-a to work, you first need to have used monobenzone topically) mix is
at a guess, i'd say it's probably a concuxion of multiple tyrosinase inhibitors and heaven knows what else. if he's covering his overheads and making a profit (if he wasn't, why run a business) the truth is possibly that among other things are classic fillers
his prices are insane, for my money i'd want to know exactly what i'm applying, is it carcinogenic (causes cancer) for one
the best bet
search pubmed for chemicals, buy pure and make it yourself
yes, you'll probably spend some time researching before you create something individually unique (unless your name's bcnu! lol) but, at least at the end of the day it'll be a genuine product, not to mention the savings you'll make
..........
........
dD isn't about experts (although we do have some) or scammers or cons or lies or greed...
it's a gathering for people looking to depigment either superficially (just lighten) or drastically (kill all melanocytes) who have come together to gather honest advice and information plus log their own experiences
your skin is the largest organ of your body, take care of it!
........
why do i have to submit a pic to get access to the dD cult???:
firstly, it's not a *cult*, it's a forum, not an advertising base for shady websites selling even shadier products!
we need confirmation that your sole intention for joining isn't to be disruptive
people (and there have been many!) looking to join, send me their tales of woe and longing. they speak of mono being imperitive to their existence lol
but, when it comes down to providing a basic pic showing the dD sign, all of a sudden, it's not so important afterall
... ?
i assure privacy to all dD
i don't want my face connected with depigging or plastered allover the internet, i'd be ridiculed more than i am now
it's a private matter and i fully understand that
previously there was a post limit so dD's could talk with newcomers and newbs could earn our trust
but
new people would abuse that by spamming endlessly.. not exactly what we had in mind
so, the simple requirement is a picture so we can gain that little piece of trust and hopefully safeguard the forum from jealous respites
http://depigdistrict.proboards59.com/index.cgi?board=preboardpost
am i shyanne/kinekon and why do i keep hacking sams websites?:
my birth certificate doesn't clarify i'm either of those people and i can assure everybody...
dealing with the proboards point and click forum had me beguiled for a while, now however i've found my footing and enjoy customising dD - making it look pretty lol
i wouyldn't know where to begin hacking anything, but .. lol, thanks for the idea
::)
anywaone who isn't for them (i certainly am not!) is ultimatly against them and wrong/stupid etc
they have the holy grail.. erm, well done, nice one, good 4 u, thumbs up, wicked, u guys rock!
but
anyone who talks too much about truths suddenly becomes lucifer himself
i get blamed for every piece of sadness they suffer
they awake for cereal, the milk smells rank and has gone of = blast you megan whore!
lol
i take it with a pinch of salt, it'd only bother me if their accusations were true
i have nothing to be jealous of
although, sams marketing is hardcore, it seems he's allover the internet in disguise praising his companies and telling lies about me
the man has time, what can i say
then again, if it were my livelihood, i'd make that time too :P
otherwise, how would i buy milk :o)
use your smarts, the rest is upto you
peace out.

an invite to join dD
this is megz with a pretty serious message
there's apparently a shortage of monobenzone, this would be dire to those without an alternate source
firstly, i always advice against purchasing items from cruddy looking vendor websites, NEVER get that desperate
those online, prepared to make bucks off of your misfortune is the one place you should never resort to
no need think about them selling you unpure items or watered down creams, you probably already know as much
rather, think of them, much like you, buying direct to save money
only, you'll not then try to sell on for an outrageous profit
dD's are currently unaffected by the shortage, free from worry and happily depigging at a fraction of the cost because we compound ourselves
please don't be a stranger, join our forum, learn from us and share your knowledge with us
the segregating is useless, we all want the same goal = to feel proud about our skin!
no need for allegiances, why shun away from gathering knowledge which will benefit your best interests

rules, no change
why?
because we have extremely personal information which has been submitted to our blog section.
from friday 25th of may, our forum will no longer have restricted areas and, those without pictures in the gallery will need to send their custom pic(s) to:
missusmiyazaki@gmail.com (admin, moi)
depigdistrict@gmail.com (carnage/jack)
depigdistrict@hotmail.com (carnage/jack)
before their admittance is reinstated
previously we required 300 posts as well and NO SPAM lol, but.. we've softened over the months and would actually prefer those without much to say to get a chance to learn from the knowledge on offer from a personal perspective with help and guidance through their transformation
if you'd like to join us (and i know everbuddy do lol) please goto:
for further guidance or if you'd like to speak with a mod/member or me before taking the plunge, alternatively just send through your:
custom pic/photo showing your face and our dD sign
give us your desired screen-name and a date of birth (the latter needed to create your account)
with your email to any of the three email addresses mentioned earlier and you can then just click on the link which'll direct you to us and authorisation of your account
we look forward to welcoming new members and to continually strive to be the best depigmentation forum (with clear complexion section) on the internet
dunka ;o)
depigmentation, is it such a dirty word?
your skin happens to be the biggest organ your body has, we like to keep ourselves on a certain level of what we consider acceptable to us (and although some deny it, those ideals are affected by where we live and our *familiars* lol = think blade)
when does acceptable by societal standards become *extreme*?
we see white people fake tanning themselves to death and that's *ok*, we see black celebrities who over the years have become less black *visually* and then we see michael jackson... no comment
did you know:
he's the *ONLY* depigmented person EVER who ended up looking so extreme, this is because as a focus point people see his overuse of cosmetic surgery then can't differentiate between his colour (or lack of) and his actual features
we see two basic arguments, the pros and the haters:
for those that hate, stop and consider those with vitiligo who are given depigmentation as an option, are they *freaks*?
basically, this boils down to awareness.
as with cosmetic surgery, people need broaden their horizons and do some research instead of making juvenile assumptions about why a person would opt to remove most the melanin from their skin with the aid of a chemical
another argument geared towards the haters is the issue of albinism, are they freaks because they're *naturally* pale
if you answered *yes* continue to live your closed minded biggot filled life filled with envy/hate
depigmentation isn't a dirty word rather racism is, in 2007 you'd think we'd have evolved from ignorance by now, evidently not.
freedom fighter
i find it childish for you to spend your time hating on me
is that the highlight of your life?
you do know most of your fruit filled theories are spurned from paranoia, i'm not satan and i refuse to let you idiotic claims effect me
speak up, accuse me to my face (if you must) why are you afraid of me? you're there in your group chucking stones from afar, get some balls and say those lies to my face
you have nothing to go on, your arguments aren't even worth my time
you stand over there (way over lol) assuming you know me
you're paranoid and jealous?
you need not be, i'm far from satisfied with my skin at present, we're all working towards the same goal, keep whichever chemicals you use and buy wherever you like, but why continue to act like like that, you do realise how foolish that looks and need i remind you (if your parents ever did?) that kind of behaviour reflects poorly on you, the only person you end up letting down is yourself
dD isn't going anywhere and unlike you, our conversations are on or off-topic, not drama 100% of the time (as is evident on your chillspot)
anyone can pretend to be bigger than they are, but your attitude proves how childish your mentality is
i don't spend all my time talking about you, come see for yourself, why listen to people who have nothing better to do than fuel the flames
of course it's your prerogative, you can continue to hate but i'm actually flattered because you'd opt to use so much emotion on me instead of seeking truth

no more drama, no no no more drama
ok.. gonna take the bull by the horns and tackle the issue of forum DRAMA
nobody likes it, but it exists and this blog entry it to let dD and haters know that we've had enough
jai:
you're speaking bullz dude, our forum is not based on the copy paste theory as the one you like *is*
we have unique member submitted info, you currently have *nothing*
is/was that my doing?
em, it makes sense that i'd want to get your forums owner shut down and draw attention to our forum?
you people are talking out your bums, i'm glad you like the benzylarbutin = not permanenet and over time you'll overload on HQ meaning you'll end up getting dark blue/black patches and nothing'll shift that.
bcnu:
nice two faced kiss-a*s behaviour, extremely admirable.
i liked your thinking here b (green text, remember writing this? lol), yet what have you done now? you've joined the *dumb* side
[rolleyes]

Wow. I was honestly just trying to help two ladies in distress over this. Some people are just so full of poisonous thoughts, that they can make legitimate offers look like a snakey sales pitch. It is best to not succumb to this way of thinking. Suspicious minds create all this drama in the first place. This is why for the longest time, I did not ever post on skin lightening boards. It is so evident the hate that some people have in themselves, that it infects the rest of their thinking like a virus... and like a virus, it spreads to other people. It seems the nature of these boards and this very subject brings about the worst insecurities in people and then they start losing their marbles and lash out indiscriminatly and sometimes without good cause.
The moment they see other people moving forward, achieving, believing, become happy and attaining their goals, they want to pull them down like crabs in a barrel hold each other back. Let them find out that people they knew to be at their same level or "less" moved "up and beyond" them, and their minds become like fire. They want that "thing" so bad, it is eroding other parts of their personality... like the kindness and compassion they are supposed to have as human beings. They don't even recognize these very traits when they see it from other people anymore, and then they wrongly label it "suspicious". Good gods! Whatever happened to the comraderie these boards were formed of?
Meg, when I saw that, I really was steamed to high heaven. I did PM a few people when they posted about their woes on that board, and even trying to give away my mono when I initally stopped using it, just so they can see what it really looks like and feels like. But you know what? That entire board is condemned to die, from the inside out. The few people that are running that board helped to run it into the ground. They did not have the intelligence to acknowledge the members who were taking chances with formerly unknown mono and posting their results. They left them unprotected from the resident trolls who drove them away, and now no one wants to come forward or stick their necks out. No sources, no shared knowledge, no common bonds, corrupt from top to bottom... almost no one there has even 75 posts... even the mods. Somebody please tell me why some people insist on wasting time at that rotten board? Because I certainly won't be one of them.
Yeah, I'm bloody pi$$ed...but I though I'd get that off my chest. And now I've cooled off.
By golly that felt cleansing.
for sure, all samites are polluted and disillusional, paranoid freaks with nothing better to do than complain, this type of drama has been alloted to the appropriate section on dD, whereas yours is holding fort at center court
thanks for the spotlight but we don't need it, our authentic mono will get us white enough thankyou
bunch of DOGS, no matter what you try, you'll always be less than human :P
don't worry guys, i had to rant, but now i'm done, lets continue with our progress and leave the haters to their bidness lol
